Spirit Week 2007
OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO... BECAUSE FCS IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! That was our theme for this year - so each day we went to a different "land"...
Monday - DISNEYLAND - (Cartoon/Superhero Day)
Tuesday - FANTASY LAND (Sports Day)
Wednesday - LALA LAND (Pajama Day!!)
Thursday- CAREER LAND (Occupation Day)
Friday - HOMELAND (Blue and White - FCS Day)
We had everything from dress up days - hall decor - team flags - shopping cart floats- and commercials - -- everyone did a FABULOUS job!!! We had lots of fun but I'm so glad it's over! Makes for a very busy week!!
Happy Birthday Aaron!!!

We all helped Aaron celebrate his birthday a few weeks ago at Applebees - there were actually two others there celebrating their birthdays as well - - this one lady we went up to talk with her and her group (Aaron wanted a pic with her since their bday's were on the same day!) After awhile the lady asked where we were all from - when we told her that a few of them were from Northland - she said she just new it...she said we all talked/acted like we were from there!! This lady has some nieces up there and her sister went to Northland years ago too -- CRAZY!!!

What a Weekend!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVAN!!
ME - CRAIG- JUSTIN- CHRISSY
JAMES-RACHEL-SARAH-NICK- -SARA-DEVAN
From Northland for a Bball game Saturday afternoon - to Red Lobster Saturday night for Devan McCammacks Birthday - to Sunday for church / potluck / afternoon service - to Superbowl Party - - this weekend was filled with good times and great memories - however Saturday night I came home to frozen pipes - which means no running water... I know what your thinking ...last week no heat for 4 days and now this poor girl as no running water... that's what I said too!! HA ;-) I can survive - I just felt bad cause my "home" was a place of rest for 5 other girls this weekend -- so much for a place of rest - now it was one in which you couldn't use the toilet - can't shower - no water for anything - but rest assured I have great neighbors once again who filled up pitchers of water for me.... come on I had to have coffee Sunday morning! We were definetly quite the site on Sunday - no showers...and here we are brushing our teeth in the sink with a cup of water ;-) What doesn't kill ya makes you stronger....RIGHT??? I sure hope so! But all is good now - my landlord came in the morning and they heated up those pipes with this HUGE heater and by Sunday afternoon I was back to normal! I'm just hoping I don't loose my electricity next.... yikes - I can survive without heat and water...not sure I could survive without electricity...i'm not that rugged! And other than the Bears losing - it overall was a great weekend! It even continued through this morning and woke up to find school was cancelled because of the cold! As much as I HATE the cold I was thankful for it today, and could even settle for one more "cold day" tommorow!! We will see!

A Little Adventure
Well maybe I shouldn't call it an adventure - - it was basically complete stupidity on my part! See I came home from teaching on Tuesday, walked in my house - -- which to my SURPRISE ;) was quite chilly - - immediately I assumed I was LOW in fuel oil - - trudging all the way to my back yard in the snow...yes uphill both ways barefoot! - -- (really it's only like 4 steps from my back door!! ) I checked my gauge to find there was NO fuel oil left .... yeah for those of you who know about this kind of stuff....yeah that's REALLY bad. So I called the company right away - had to finish paying the bill too, so my grocery shopping this week isn't gonna happen!! ;-) anyways the lady is like "okay we will be there in the next 5 business days!" WHAT!!!! 5 days - I have NO heat and it's finally winter around here and COLD!!! ;-) Oh well I had high hopes that it would only be a day or so - -- I WOULD SURVIVE!!! So Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday - - still no fuel men!! YIKES! by this time it's getting ridiculously cold...yes my hair spray bottle wouldn't even pump out and my mouse barely would come out -- - even that was frozen!! And that is a TRAGEDY!!! I know I think it's hilarious!!! So finally Friday morning I called just to see if I was on the route or not for that day...Thank the Lord I was - -- I could still go into another whole story about that phone call and those last few hours but this already has turned into quite the epistle! But anyways I now have heat and all is good! My biggest fear through all of this though (okay honestly pretty much gave myself an ulcer from it - - but since I live in a trailor my pipes have frozen a few times already!!! Yeah so not having heat in the house too made for quite the perfect climate for freezing pipes!!! I could just see them freezing again but this time busting and then all the water would probably flush me and my trailor right down the street!! (You have a mental picture of this I hope!) So anyways God was good to me despite my irresponsibility!!! Hey come on - out of sight out of mind right.... ;-) Oh yeah and I'm sure many of you are thinking well you should have just paid the next day fee ( I realized that ...but this happened one other time HA and the lady told me it was $150 - - not a chance I'd rather freeze!! - But this lady informed me that - that was weekend rate - if they had to come on a Saturday - weekday rates are only $50 for next day service - Now $50 is worth not freezing over!!! Oh well at least this lady was more informative for me - -I know for NEXT TIME....all I got to say is there better not be a NEXT TIME!!!

Weekend Fun!

It was Julie McNally's last weekend with us- she's traveling for Northland this semester, so we headed to Margarita's (mexican restraunt!) to send her off! (In pic - starting on the left...Rachel Becker, Julie McNally, me, Suemi Harrison, and James Peterson.)
Honestly, I live for the weekends! There is always something going on - Friday we celebrated Chris Brand's 26th birthday - including quite the game of Bible Scattergories and Pictionary! Then Saturday Margarita's and a little basketball fun - afterwards heading back to my house where we all crashed for a movie - those crazy kids stayed up till 3 - I remember those days! ;-) I gave up and went to bed a little after midnight! Then everyone came back over for lunch today in which we fixed a breakfast feast and ended the weekend with a crazy game of spoons - yes I did win if your wondering! Seeing we end up playing alot of games (i'm such a game girl myself!) do you have any games worth suggesting we try? We are always up for something new!
I'm so thankful for the friends God has given me here in Pound - not to mention those that come down from Northland! ;-) At least it provides some "adult conversation" after a long week with 6-7-8 year olds!
